How Do I Change My Password?

Where can I find my access code?

What is the difference between Basic and Premium Access?
I am a teacher and I forgot my username and/or password.

Your username is your email address. Please make sure you are using your school email address. If you registered using a different email address, you can register again using your school email. At this time you cannot change your email address/username in the FOSSweb system.

If you forgot your password, go to the log-in box on the FOSSweb homepage and click "Forgot Password." You will be prompted to enter your email address (username). The email needs to be valid and functional in order to receive the email with a link that allows you to change your password. You have 48 hours to reset your password with this email. If you do not receive a reset email within 10 minutes, check your spam folder. If you cannot find the email, make sure that your school's firewall has whitelisted schoolspecialty.com and unblocks any emails coming from loginhelp@schoolspecialty.com.

How do I change my password?

If you want to change your password when logged in, click edit profile on the topmost header of FOSSweb. Click the reset password button and follow the steps to update your password. Or, go to the log-in box on the FOSSweb homepage before you log in and click Forgot Password. You will be prompted to enter your email address (username). You will receive an email with a link that allows you to change your password.

I want to change my email address (username) on my account.

Once you've set up your account, you cannot change your username (email address). Your account will still function without issue as is, though with the disadvantage that you cannot reset your password if you cannot receive email at the original email address. Presently, the only other course of action is to register for a second account with your correct email address.

Where can I find my access code?

Where you find your code depends on which edition of FOSS you are using. If you have purchased FOSS K-8 Next Generation, FOSS Third Edition, FOSS Second Edition Middle School, or FOSS Texas Edition, you will find a FOSSweb access code inside the cover of your Investigations Guide. Each code is module specific and will provide you with full access to FOSSweb teacher resources for that module after online activation. If you do not have the access code, or have lost it, please contact the person in your building responsible for FOSS materials purchases.

If you use FOSS Elementary Second Edition or FOSS Middle School First Edition, please contact us using our FOSSweb Support form to receive your access code. The code you receive will open up all the modules for your edition, so we recommend you select only those modules you use most to appear in your My FOSS Modules section of your FOSSweb account.

If you aren't sure what edition you are using, you can tell the difference by looking at your teacher materials. FOSS K-8 Next Generation, FOSS Third Edition Elementary, FOSS Texas Edition, and FOSS Middle School Second Edition have a Teacher Toolkit containing a spiral-bound Investigations Guide and a Teacher Resources book. FOSS Second Edition Elementary and FOSS First Edition Middle School have one Teacher Guide in a three-ring binder.

What is the difference between Basic and Premium Access?

The difference in access depends on the edition of FOSS you are using based on what was available at the time of publication.

For FOSS K-8 Next Generation, FOSS K-6 Third Edition, FOSS K-5 Texas Edition, and FOSS Middle School Second Edition:

  • Basic access allows the teacher to view all of the program assets. Basic access allows the teacher to create access for the class (Common Class Login) or each individual student (Individual Student Accounts) so that the class or individual student can log in and see all student-facing resources for the module except the student eBook.
  • Premium access unlocks the FOSS Science Resources eBook for students through a Class Page or individual student accounts.
For FOSS K-6 Second Edition Elementary and FOSS Middle School First Edition:
  • Basic access allows the teacher to view all of the program assets, except the digital Teacher Guide and student eBook. Basic access allows the teacher to create access for the class or each individual student so that the class can log in and see all student-facing resources for the module except the student eBook.
  • Premium access unlocks the digital Teacher Guide and student eBook for the teacher and allows students to view the student eBook through the student or class account.
Premium Access Codes can be purchased from your Delta Education Sales representative. Consult the Delta Representative map to find the representative for your state and county.

If I don't login, can I still use the site?

You can proceed and use this site without registering. This will allow you to:

  • view all the information available from the top navigation bar.
  • view select module resources.
  • view the scope and sequence for your state or district.
However, in order to access the majority of module resources, including the online assessment system, you will be asked to register and log in. If you don't want to log in, you can enter the site as a guest. To visit as a guest, go back to the homepage and choose your role and location from the Visit as a Guest section for a more customized experience. You can change roles and states at any time.
