FOSS Teacher Resource Introductory Videos provide a general overview of the instructional practices within FOSS lessons. We recommend viewing these videos after being introduced to the FOSS program or by starting with the Active Investigation video for your grade band.

During sense-making discussions in FOSS, students analyze data, develop models, and construct explanations through purposeful questions and student-to-student interactions. FOSS investigations utilize crosscutting concepts to bridge between knowledge and experience to provide students access to a deeper understanding of the core ideas in science.
