Who should apply?
The workshop is designed for curriculum coordinators, FOSS consultants
involved in professional development of middle school teachers, and grades
7–8 teachers planning to use the Chemical Interactions Course in their
classrooms. Teams from districts are encouraged to apply. We will discuss
the FOSS teaching strategies, learning needs of middle-level students and
teachers, and the use of science notebooks and assessment as they relate
to this FOSS course. As a result of the workshop, participants will be
prepared to teach the Chemical Interactions Course to other educators and
to support them in their teaching. Each participant will receive a set of
the teacher and student print materials.
Registration deadline: June 4, 2010
There is a $150 registration fee for this 5-day workshop. Registration is
limited to 22 participants. The registration deadline is Friday, June 4.
Once registered, you will have the option to pay online by credit card or to
mail a check to the Lawrence Hall of Science.
