Split-Twig Figurine

This split-twig figurine came from a cave in the Redwall Limestone in the eastern Grand Canyon. It was collected in April, 1998 by park archaeologists during an emergency inventory as part of an ARPA investigation. Recently, archeologists recovered 14 more figurines from the cave. The scientists are not certain of the age of this particular figurine, however, other figurine sites in the area have been dated to 4390-3700 BC.
