FOSS Half-Sheet Duplications Masters Now Available on FOSSweb

Student sheets for the grade 3–6 FOSS modules are now available as half-sheets. In this format, the teacher can choose which sheets to use for students and make copies accordingly. Students glue or tape the reduced sheets to the left page of a spread, leaving the right page for writing, drawing, and other documentation. This model is an efficient means for obtaining the most productive work from elementary students. These reduced versions of duplication masters for grades 3–6 modules are available for download here.

FOSS Teacher Videos for Grades K–6 Now Available in Flash Format

By popular demand, the FOSS Teacher Preparation videos for grades K–6 are now available as Flash versions, as well as in the existing RealPlayer versions. The RealPlayer files will be phased out by April 2008. You can view the teacher videos here.

Middle School Multimedia Log-In Changes

If you are having difficulty accessing the multimedia for middle school on FOSSweb, please make sure you have updated your log-in information. As of July 1, 2007, you need to apply for a personalized username and password. Your previous username and password will no longer work. Go to the middle school course of interest and link to the multimedia at the top of the sidebar menu. You will find directions for applying for new log-in information there.

Students may then use their teacher’s username and password to access this site. For privacy reasons, students under the age of 18 cannot register for their own passwords, but they may use the ones given to their teachers. The FOSS staff appreciates your cooperation in not having students register with their own login information.

Two security settings (on Flash Player 8 and ActiveX Controls) could interfere with the use of FOSS CD-ROMS or FOSSweb Flash activities on PCs and Macs. For information on resolving these issues, click here.

Shockwave 11 for Macs not compatible with FOSSWeb activities.

If you are using a Mac, please DO NOT download and install Shockwave 11 as there is currently an incompatibility with this version of the Shockwave player and FOSSWeb.com. If you have already installed Shockwave 11, please read our FAQ to download the Shockwave 10 player.
