Middle School Teacher Participants Needed for a Research Study
Researchers at TERC have been funded by the National Science Foundation to study new materials designed to scaffold scientific reasoning for students with a common learning disability. The materials for Accessing Science Ideas are closely aligned to the kits Diversity of Life and Populations and Ecosystems. By participating, you will have the opportunity to learn about executive function disorder and to contribute to research about learning science and learning disabilities. Teachers will also receive a stipend of $350 or $500 depending on level of participation, professional development points, face to face training in their district, and a class set of research materials. Districts may receive a kit or funds to restock kits. Teachers are eligible who usually teach seven or more investigations from either unit above; who will teach either unit next academic year (2010-2011); and who have a regular education classroom.
For more information about this research opportunity or to register contact Polly Hubbard, Project Director at asi@terc.edu. Please note: Registration closes May 24 for those who teach DOL in August-September.
