Surveyor 3 landed on the Moon on April 20, 1967, in the Ocean of Storms. Two-and-a-half years later, in November 1969, Apollo 12 astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean landed just 156 m away from Surveyor 3. They removed parts of the Surveyor 3 spacecraft and brought them back to Earth for analysis. You can see the lunar module on the horizon.
