This view of the large Tsiolkovsky Crater on the lunar farside was photographed by the astronauts during the Apollo 13 lunar pass, looking southeast. Tsiolkovsky was first identified and named by the Russians from photographs taken by their unmanned Luna 3 spacecraft. This large crater seems like a cross between a mare and a crater.
