Online PD Course offered by the NY Hall of Science

The NY Hall of Science is offering a web-enabled professional development opportunity for teachers who have FOSS and DSM kits in their classroom and would like some more training and support.

This professional development utilizes a hybrid course environment of traditional face-to-face instruction and on-line instruction to support science content and enhance professional development for the NYC Science Core Curriculum kits i.e. FOSS and DSM. These kits are directly aligned to the NYC Science Scope and Sequence for the 3rd, 4th and 6th grades and this course strategy can provide the flexible support that teachers need to best utilize the kits for student achievement within the aligned curriculum.

The web-enabled tool set will be a combination of synchronous tools, like chat, and video and asynchronous tools, like email, webinars and threaded discussions, which will lead to more instructional support.

Participants interested in registering for this p-credit course must apply on-line at www.nycenet.edu/aspdp
